Resum: "Aquest article s'aproxima a l'obra teatral 'Galatea', de Josep Maria de Sagarra, a través del concepte de teatralitat. En primer lloc, es proposa una definició del terme i s'analitzen les crítiques teatrals de Sagarra al diari 'La Publicitat' per tal de determinar com Sagarra entenia el concepte de teatralitat. Seguidament, s'analitzen els mecanismes estètics que conformen l'obra: la inclusió de mecanismes narratius, la creació d'una atmosfera determinada, l'artificiositat dialèctica, la subversió simbòlica. Per acabar, les conclusions esbossen com aquesta teatralitat, entesa a grans trets com una explicitació de la convenció teatral, permet conjugar simbolisme i farsa". |

Abstract: "This article analyses the play 'Galatea', by Josep Maria de Sagarra, through the concept of theatricality. First, a definition of the term is proposed and the author’s theatrical reviews in the newspaper La Publicitat are analysed to determine how Sagarra understood the concept of theatricality. Secondly, the aesthetic devices of the play are analysed, such as the inclusion of narrative mechanisms in the play, the staging of unique atmospheres, the dialectical artifice, or the symbolic subversion. Finally, the conclusions outline how this theatricality, broadly understood as awareness of the theatrical convention, allows symbolism and farce to be combined . |
