Resum: "Aquest article es proposa analitzar les particularitats del verb 'suïcidar-se' mitjançant una descripció gramatical i històrica del seu origen i evolució en quatre de les llengües romàniques que han adoptat aquest neologisme: català, castellà, francès i italià. Aquesta anàlisi històrica ens permetrà proposar una hipòtesi que expliqui el seu singular procés de formació i ens ajudi a entendre per quin motiu aquest verb només pot ser descrit gramaticalment com un verb alhora pronominal i reflexiu, sorgit per mimetisme semàntic a partir del verb sinònim 'matar-se'". |

Abstract: "The purpose of this article is to analyse the properties of the verb 'suïcidar-se' 'to commit suicide' through a grammatical and historical description of its origin and evolution in four Romance languages that have adopted this neologism: Catalan, Spanish, French and Italian. This historical analysis will allow us to propose a hypothesis that explains its unique formation process and help us understand why this verb can only be described grammatically as a verb that is both pronominal and reflexive because it is modelled semantically on the synonymous verb matar-se 'to kill oneself'". |
