Resum en català: "La versió catalana (K) del Devisement du Monde o 'Milió' de Marco Polo esmenta el Preste Joan en un passatge que no apareix en cap altra versió del text, vinculant aquest monarca llegendari amb les regions africanes d’Etiòpia i Núbia i il·lustrant la translatio del seu regne d’Àsia a Àfrica a inicis del segle XIV. Després de resumir el seu paper en el 'Milió', Reginato relaciona el desplaçament del Preste Joan amb la confusió medieval entre l’Índia i Etiòpia i entre Etiòpia i Núbia (amb una incursió en la cartografia) i l’analitza a la llum del context històric de l’Europa del segle XIV". |

Resum en anglès: "The Catalan version (K) of Marco Polo’s Devisement du Monde or 'Milione' mentions Priest John in a passage that does not appear in any other version of Marco’s text, linking the legendary monarch to the African regions of Ethiopia and Nubia and illustrating the early 14th-century translatio of John’s seat from Asia to Africa. After summarizing his role in the Milione, Reginato connects Priest John’s relocation to the medieval confusion between India and Ethiopia and between Ethiopia and Nubia (with a foray into cartography) and analyzes it in the light of the historical context of 14th-century Europe". |
