How to find documents in a particular collection:

any field title author Narrow by collection:  Articles  Tesis	Click on a link below the search box to see and select subcollections such as Articles or Theses, or select/deselect the tick boxes next to a particular collection before doing the search.
any field title author Narrow by collection:  Articles  Tesis	For example, searching synchrotron documents in articles and theses collections.

How to search for words/phrases (within titles, abstracts, etc):

any field title abstract	Return records containing words defensa and propia.
any field title abstract	Return records containing phrase 'defensa propia' in abstract.

How to use truncation:

Return records containing words biotechnology, biotecnológico, biotecnologia, etc.

How to use boolean operators:

any field title author or: any field title author	Return records containing both campanyes and publicitat.
any field title author	Return records containing either campanyes or publicitat.
any field title author	Return records containing campanyes but not publicitat.

How to use parentheses:

Return records containing either impostos or tributs, and legislacio or lleis. Nested parentheses are supported.

How to find documents from a certain period:

any field title author year	Type 2003 and select the year field.
any field title author	Alternatively, type 'year:' followed by value.
any field title author	You can enter specific year range.

How to search for authors:

any field title author	Some authors have unique names and their publications can be retrieved by searching for the surname in the any field field.
any field title author	For better results, type surname comma first name and select the author field.
any field title author	Sometimes authors are indexed with their initial.
any field title author	Find papers by J. Egozcue published from 1998 until 2004.
